“Reflections: 50 Years in Retrospect” Classic pieces from private collections and new works.

A look back on 50 years as a professional visual artist, mentor and the unique creative process of Debee L. Holland-Olson will be celebrated as a solo exhibit at the Highland Art Center’s Art Walk opening Saturday, June 7th, 2025 at 5 PM. Holland-Olson has been represented by the Highland’s Weaverville Gallery since 1975.

Known for her oversized paintings, she explores the personal connection to natural settings to symbolize inner states and facilitate an emotional catharsis. Her use of color, and atmosphere conveys the expressive qualities within the landscape.

Holland-Olson has assembled a collection of paintings on loan from collectors and her personal artist collection that shows the progression of work which has led to her current style. She works in a variety of mediums with ease. On exhibit will be watercolors, illustrations, pastel paintings, oil paintings, college, original hand painted ceramic tiles and printmaking. New works will also be available.

The exhibit runs through Sunday June 29th at 3 PM.
