AS THIS QUARTERS FEATURED ARTIST
Creativity has always been part of Sandy’s life. From the playground to holiday fun, taking an unusual approach seemed more natural. Painting and the arts gave a more serious avenue to express the creative side. Study and visiting many exhibits over the years has built a base of knowledge and ability to express the art in a more refined way.
Rivers is the theme of this collection; The Mekong, Seine, and Trinity River. Sandy is drawn to water as many of you are. The movement and changing patterns and color are so captivating. These paintings are both impressionistic and abstract. The two styles relate to one another in that layers of acrylic paint add depth and interest to the art. The art work starts with color and movement which establishes a rhythm to each piece and a path for the eye to follow. The interplay of color and shape is the focus of the art. Painting in the abstract has helped develop brush and color techniques that also enhance the impressionistic works.
