Ceramic Classes

Instructor: John Garrett has been an art instructor to both schoolchildren as well as adults in his wildly popular ceramics classes. John brings fun and a casual freedom to his classes thus compelling students to return year after year. John will guide you to think outside the box and create fabulously original designs. You’ll meet wonderful classmates and enjoy a relaxing environment that will lift your spirits.

Ceramics for Seniors: This class is for the beginning clay student who wants to try something new for pure fun! No experience is necessary. This hand building class will include constructing all types of usable and functional items. Thursdays, 10 am to 1 pm. $30 per month.

   
 

Open Studio Ceramics: Do you love playing in clay but don’t have a place to work or fire? Why not try out Studio G open clay class. 3 hours one day per week plus one Saturday per month, to be decided during the class. Thursday evenings, 6 to 9 pm. $30 per month.

   
   
 
Silk Painting Class

Instructor: Natasha Foucault's works on silk have been exhibited and sold in both museums and commercial galleries throughout the world. In 1995 she had a one-woman exhibit of her silk painting and wearable art at the Silk Museum in Holland. She received second prize at the First International Silk Painting Congress in 1998 for Excellence in Silk Painting and The Best of the Show Award both at 2004 and 2006 Silk-In-Santa Fe Festivals.

Silk Scarf

Title: Create your own Hand Painted Crepe de Chine Silk Scarf
Description: Have you ever wanted to see your designs on silk?
Now is your opportunity to learn the ins and outs of silk paintings. This class will explore various techniques- gutta certi, salt, alcohol, linear under-painting, washes, shading and blending.
Students will create their own design on 15” by 60” Silk Crepe de Chine Scarf during this session.
For the price of one designer hand painted scarf you will get your own plus you will learn the process.
Supplies include: a silk scarf 15” by 60”  Crepe de Chine, Silk dyes (Jacquard Green Label), Gutta, brushes, salt, freezer paper, sketch paper, books, images.

   
 
Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced (all levels)
Date: Sunday October 3, 2010
Time: 1 pm to 4 pm, 3 hours
Cost: $60 (All supplies included)
